Auf dem Kleinen Schlossplatz, zwischen Kunstmuseum und BW-Bank, habe ich dieses Kunstwerk entdeckt. Sieht nach einem Unfall des EURO-Zeichens aus, oder?

I found this artwork at Kleiner Schlossplatz between Kunstmuseum and a bank building. Looks like an accident of the euro symbol, right?

Wir hatten gestern die Gelegenheit im Restaurant "Cube" am Schlossplatz zu speisen. 

Yesterday we jumped at the chance to dine in the restaurant named "Cube" which is situated at the Schlossplatz.

Das "Cube" bietet sagenhafte Aussichten.
The "Cube" offers terrific views to Stuttgart.

Nicht nur das Dessert war so appetitlich angerichtet.
Not only the dessert was served appetizingly.

Der Maibaum - The Maypole

Dieser Maibaum am Schlossplatz wurde aus Bierkästen hergestellt. Eher ein Bierbaum.

This maypole is situated at Schlossplatz. It was made from beer crates. It's more a beerpole.

Live In The Shadows?

Denkmal für den 1945 hingerichteten Eugen Bolz. Er war Staatspräsident, Innen- und Justizminister in Württemberg, Abgeordneter des Reichstages und des Württembergischen Landtags und, besonders hervorzuheben, Gegner des Nationalsozialismus. Das Bronzerelief wurde von Alfred Hrdlicka geschaffen.

This is the monument to Eugen Bolz who was executed in 1945. He was a president, Secretariy of the Interior and Attorney General in Württemberg, representative of the German Reichstag and the Württemberg Landtag and an opponent of the National Socialism. The bronze relief was created by Alfred Hrdlicka. 

Das Relief befindet sich an der Seite des Königsbaus.

The relief is to be seen on the side of the Königsbau building.

Def Ice Cream At 10:30 pm?

Old Bridge: eine kleine aber feine, leider nicht ganz preiswerte, Eisdiele. Zu finden in der Bolzstraße. Nähe Schlossplatz.

Old Bridge: a small but nice ice cream parlour. It's not really excellent value for money. You could find this establishment at Bolzstraße near Schlossplatz.

Shindig At Schlossplatz

Selbst um 22 Uhr war das Karussell am Rande des Schlossplatzes noch in Aktion. Und Kinder liefen auch noch rum.

Even at 10 pm the carrousel near the Schlossplatz was going round. And there were a lot of children too.

... ist der Name dieses Kunstwerk aus Stahl auf dem Schlossplatz. Es wurde von Alexander Calder (1898 - 1976) geschaffen.

... is the name of this steely artwork at the Schlossplatz. It was made by Alexander Calder who lived from 1898 to 1976.

The Enlightened

Der Turm des Hauptbahnhofes war einige Tage lang wegen des herrlichen Sonnenscheins gut bestrahlt. Das linke Bild wurde am Schlossplatz aufgenommen, die Sicht geht die Königsstraße entlang. Das rechte Bild enstand 3 Tage zuvor direkt am Hauptbahnhof. Es war einen Tag nach der Absperrung des Südflügels.

The tower of the main station was all aglow for some days because of the wonderful sunny weather. The left photo was made at the Schlossplatz. The view goes along the famous Königstraße. The right photo was made 3 days before at the main station. It was the day after the blocking of the southern wing of the station.

Zahlreiche Bänke laden auf dieser kleinen Allee am Schlossplatz bei schönstem Herbstwetter zum Verweilen ein.

There are numerous benches on this small boulevard at the Schlossplatz. They invite you to enjoy this wonderful sunny autumn weather.

Mmm, The Vernal Wind

Warum hat Frank Sinatra nicht auch den Frühlingswind besungen? Was war das für ein schöner Dienstag! Der Schlossplatz hätte eigentlich wegen Überfüllung schließen müssen, so viele Menschen haben diesen herrlich warmen Frühlingstag genossen.

Frank Sinatra forgot to sing about the vernal wind. Why? It was a wonderful tuesday. The Schlossplatz with its green places was chock-full. A lot of people have enjoyed this great spring day.

Light Shopping

We're in the shopping mall named "Königsbau Passagen Stuttgart" at Schlossplatz. This is the view from ground floor to the glass roof of this "Cathedral of Consumption".

Mind The Gap

Lücken werden geschaffen, um diese wieder zu schließen. Schweres Baugerät hat Gebäude in der Stephanstraße, in der Nähe vom Schlossplatz, abgerissen und Bau-Lücken entstehen lassen. Aber lange wird man nicht warten müssen, bis neue Häuser entstehen.

Spaces are made to close them. Some buildings were demolished by massive construction equipment in the Stephanstraße near Schlossplatz. In this way there is an great empty lot. I bet that there will be modern buildings as quickly as possible.
