Der Liselotte-und-Manfred-Rommel-Platz in S-Sillenbuch sah bis vor wenigen Tagen noch so aus. Der Baum war bestückt mit Tragetaschen.

These are photos from the unique Liselotte-und-Manfred-Rommel-Platz in Sillenbuch which were made a few days ago. The tree was fitted with carrying bags.

It's Something Happening In Sillenbuch

In Stuttgart werden leider zu viele Gebäude und Plätze nur ungenügend oder gar nicht gepflegt. Dieser Platz in Sillenbuch, zum Plauschen und Spielen geeignet, ist ein Beispiel dafür. Noch im Sommer letzten Jahres war er alles andere als einladend. Doch jetzt wird hier gebaut. Ich bin gespannt, was daraus wird.

There are too many buildings and places in Stuttgart which are insufficiently or not tended. This place is situated in Sillenbuch. It's good for cosy chats or kids' playing. In summer of last year the place was anything but welcoming. But now you can realize building activities. I'm curious about the result.

Fountains Of Stuttgart, No. 000033

An diesem Haus befindet sich ein kleiner privater Brunnen, ein richtiges Kleinod. Ich habe Derartiges anderswo noch nicht gesehen. Auf den folgenden vier Fotos wollen wir uns dem Brunnen nähern.

There is a private fountain at this house. It's really a treasure. I couldn't find such thing elsewhere. The following four shots should give you a more intimate view to this lovely fountain.

It's been a long time now since I was in Sillenbuch. The Liselotte u. Manfred Rommel Platz was changed again. Now it looks like a Beltane place.

Autumn Lookout

Blick von Sillenbuch auf den Frauenkopf. Kaum zu glauben, dass der Frauenkopf früher, zu unmotorisierten Zeiten, keine so beliebte Wohngegend war, weil es sehr beschwerlich war, runter nach Stuttgart zu kommen. Man war halt weit ab vom Schuss. Heute ist es eine der teuersten Wohngegenden Stuttgarts, viele Gutbetuchte haben hier Quartier bezogen. Bemerkenswert ist auch, dass die Anzahl der Weinreben dort immer mehr zunimmt. Ob der Wein dann auch unbezahlbar wird?

View from Sillenbuch to the Frauenkopf area. It's hard to believe that the Frauenkopf was a relatively unpopular residential area in non-motorized times because of its remoteness from Stuttgart. It was hard to go there. The people at the Frauenkopf just lived far far away. Today the Frauenkopf is one of the most expensive residential areas. Many well-heeled people live here. It is also remarkable that the number of vines rises more and more. If the wine from this area will be unaffordable too?

Es hat sich was getan am "Liselotte u. Manfred Rommel Platz" in Alt-Sillenbuch. Wer hat die Veränderung entdeckt? 

There was a changing at the "Liselotte u. Manfred Rommel Platz" in the old part of Sillenbuch. Have you already noticed it?

Nun, ich will niemanden auf die Folter spannen. Aus dem "Flaschenbaum" wurde ein herbstlicher "Drachenbaum".

Well! I don't want tantalize you. The bottle's tree has changed to a autumn kite's tree.

A Unique Place

Der "Liselotte u. Manfred Rommel Platz" in Alt-Sillenbuch ist ein ganz besonderer Platz. Zum einen ist das geschnitzte Schild schon ein Kunstwerk für sich. Dann fällt aber auch der "Flaschenbaum" mit seinen Vogelhäuschen auf. Eine Bank lädt zum Verweilen oder zu einem kleinen Schwatz ein.

This place named "Liselotte u. Manfred Rommel Platz" is situated in the old part of Sillenbuch. It is really a unique place. At first the carved plate is an artwork of its own. But the bottle tree with its birdhouses is an eye-catcher too. A bench invites you to stay or to chat.

Buildings In Sillenbuch

Dies sind nur einige Beispiele für die Gebäude entlang der Tuttlinger Straße in S-Sillenbuch. Viele ältere Häuser werden liebevoll und aufwändig restauriert. Und ein Händchen für Pflanzen haben die Sillenbucher anscheinend auch.

These are only few examples of buildings alongside the Tuttlinger Straße in Sillenbuch. Many old houses are being restored lovingly and heavily. The people of Sillenbuch have seemingly a right touch for plants.

Auf dem Weg von der Stadtbahnhaltestelle Sillenbuch hinunter in den alten Ortskern (und zu meinem Garten) hat man interessante Ein- und Ausblicke.

2006 lebten Menschen aus 68 verschiedenen Ländern in S-Sillenbuch. Aus diesem Grunde wurde dieser kleine Garten angelegt. Um einen Baum wurden Pflastersteine und 68 Metallschilder in einem Kreis angebracht. Die Metallschilder zeigen den Namen, die Himmelsrichtung und die Entfernung des betreffenden Landes.

In 2006 people from 68 different countries and nations lived in Sillenbuch. For that reason a small park was created. There is a circle of cobblestones and 68 metal plates around the tree. The metal plates show the name, the direction and the distance of the mentioned country.
