September 2014 Theme Day: Rust And Ruins

Wenn nicht bald etwas geschieht, wird die Villa Berg in S-Ost von der Natur zurück erobert und aussehen wie ein Teil der kambodschanischen Tempelanlage Ta Prohm.

If the city of Stuttgart don't do something about it's decay, the Villa Berg will be recaptured by nature and get the look of the Cambodian temple complex named Ta Prohm.

Oh Stuttgart

Die Villa Berg im Stadtteil Ost ist eines der vielen Kleinode in Stuttgart. Leider gammelt das wunderschöne Haus vor sich hin, keiner mag sich darum kümmern. Auch rundherum siehts nicht besser aus. Wenn das so weiter geht, steht hier bald nur noch eine Ruine. Ach Stuttgart....

The "Villa Berg" is situated in the East of Stuttgart and is one of our treasures. Unfortunately this wonderful building is just decaying along and nobody wants to look after it. The places around the villa don't look better. If nobody will stop it the villa could be a ruin soon. Oh Stuttgart....

Rouse It From Slumber

Die Villa Berg scheint in einen Dornröschenschlaf gefallen zu sein. Die Fenster sind verriegelt und verrammelt, die Treppen sind schon lange nicht mehr benutzt worden. HEY, AUFWACHEN!

The villa Berg is fallen asleep into a 100-year sleep. The windows are locked and barricaded, the stairs haven't seen any person for a long time. WAKE UP!

What A Nice View

Relax

Endlich ist der Winter fort. Die Sonne scheint, die Vögel zwitschern, es grünt und blüht, es riecht nach Erde. Warum nicht in den Villa Berg Park gehen und das alles genießen? Oder, wie es der Zweck des auf dem Foto abgebildeten Bauwerks zu sein scheint, ein paar Entspannungsübungen machen. Das "Gebäude" stammt übrigens noch von der Internationalen Gartenbauausstellung 1993.

At last the winter has gone. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, all the plants will be in full bloom soon, it smells like fresh ground. Why not to go to the park of Villa Berg to enjoy all that? You can also make relaxation exercises in the pictured construction which is a relict of an International Garden Festival in 1993.

A Meadow Full Of Spring

Gestern war ich wieder einmal im Park der Villa Berg, mein Ziel: die berühmte Krokuswiese. Ein wahres Krokusmeer - blaue, weiße, lila und vereinzelt auch gelbe Krokusse. Ein herrlicher Anblick.

Yesterday I was in Villa Berg park again. I wanted to shoot the crocus meadow. It's really a sea of crocuses - you can see blue, white, purple and some yellow plants. A magnificent view.
