Samstag, also gestern, fand wieder die alljährliche Hocketse der "Narrenzunft Eschbachwald Stuttgart-Mönchfeld" statt. Bei annehmbaren Temperaturen gab es zu Essen und zu Trinken und wieder einmal Gelegenheit für einen gemütlichen Plausch. 

Yesterday there was the annual "Hocketse" which was organized by the "Narrenzunft (fool's guild) Eschbachwald Stuttgart-Mönchfeld". You could eat and drink at acceptable temperatures. There was also the possibility for a cosy chat.

Höhepunkt war auf alle Fälle die Autogrammstunde mit Sven Ulreich und Georg Niedermeier vom VfB Stuttgart.

Hocketse In Mönchfeld (Mühlhausen)

Auf der Suche nach einer neuen und familienfreundlichen Wohnung sind wir im Stuttgarter Stadtteil Mühlhausen auf diese kleine Hocketse gestoßen. Es hat zwar nicht der Bär gebrummt, aber dennoch war die Stimmung gut. Veranstaltet wurde das Fest von der "Narrenzunft Eschbachwald".

We came upon this small "Hocketse" in the district named "Mühlhausen" because we were on the way to a flat viewing. It was not a megaevent but the atmosphere was good and almost family-oriented. This festival was organized by a society named "Narrenzunft Eschbachwald" (fool's guild of Eschbachwald).

Impressions From Yesterday's Heslach Hocketse

Der Vormittag war noch sonnig und warm, aber der Nachmittag war dann regnerisch und kühl. Trotzdem fand das Heslacher Hocketse wie geplant statt. Einem echten Heslacher kann eben nichts die gute Laune und die Lust am Feiern verderben.

The morning was still sunny and warm. But the afternoon was rainy and cool. Nevertheless the Heslach Hocketse has taken place as planned. The Heslach people are good-humoured at any weather.

Deftiges vom Grill, Bier vom Fass, natürlich Wein und alkoholfreie Getränke wurden feilgeboten.
Solid meals from the barbie, keg beer, Swabian wine and nonalcoholic beverages were offered.

Hocketse #1

Heute und morgen möchte ich ein paar Impressionen der Mai-Hocketse vom Heslacher Bihlplatz präsentieren. Bei einer Hocketse handelt es sich schlicht und ergreifend um ein geselliges Beisammensein, man plaudert bzw. schwätzt ein wenig, dazu wird selbstverständlich gegessen und getrunken. Auf dem ersten Bild ist der Maibaum zu sehen. Zu den blauen Socken werde ich mich noch zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt äußern.

I want to show you some impressions from the Hocketse on Bihlplatz in Heslach. Hocketse is a Swabian word for a get-together where you schmooze with friends or neighbours. Needless to say that there is enough to drink and to eat. On the first shot you see the maypole. Do you realize the blue socks? I want to explain their meaning at a later date. This documentation will be continued tomorrow.
