A Small But Intimate Place

Es ist wieder Zeit für Advents- und Weihnachtsmärkte. Ich habe meine Tour durch die Märkte mit einem Besuch in S-Rohracker gestartet. Hier präsentierten örtliche Vereine und Schulen handwerkliche Arbeiten sowie Essen und Trinken. Nachfolgend ein paar Eindrücke.

It's time again for Advent and Christmas markets. I've started my tour through the markets with a short visit in Rohracker. Local associations and schools have presented their self-made products but also food and drinks. You can see some impressions below.

The Birdman

Der als "Vogelmann" bekannte Straßenmusiker und sein ständiger Begleiter, ein männlicher Edelpapagei, in den Gassen des Weihnachtsmarktes.

The pictured busker is known as the "birdman". His constant companion is a male Eclectus Parrot. I've met them in the alleys of the Christmas market.

A Snowfree Christmas Market

Ein Weihnachtsmarkt ohne Schnee! Den Menschen ist's egal. Sie bummeln trotzdem an den Ständen vorbei, schauen hier und schauen da. Wenigstens sind die Temperaturen im Keller, da schmeckt dann der Glühwein besser.

A Christmas market without snow! The people have no preferences. Nevertheless they ramble past the booths and look here and look there. At least the temperatures are at rock bottom. So the hot spiced wine tastes better.

Weihnachtliche Musik gab es auf dem kleinen, aber sehr schönen Weihnachtsmarkt in Schorndorf.

Christmasy music was performed at the small but beautiful Christmas Market in Schorndorf.

Rathaus mit passender Mütze. Hoffentlich wärmt sie auch ordentlich. 

The town hall got a seasonal cap. I hope it will warm respectably.

Der Weihnachtsmarkt war an diesem sonnigen, aber kalten Tag, gut besucht. Meine Empfehlung für Speis und Trank: Glühbier und Schupfnudeln mit Sauerkraut.

The Christmas Market was well-visited on this sunny but cold day. I can recommend "Glühbier" (hot spiced beer) and "Schupfnudeln mit Sauerkraut" (rolled noodeles served with sauerkraut) for a small refreshment to you.

Impressions From Esslingen's Christmas Market

Gestern waren wir in Esslingen am Neckar. Natürlich haben wir den Weihnachtsmarkt und den Mittelaltermarkt besucht. Wir waren begeistert, insbesondere der Mittelaltermarkt mit seinen typischen Attraktionen hat uns sehr gefallen. Ein Besuch lohnt sich in jedem Falle. Gerade bei Einbruch der Dunkelheit ist es dort sehr stimmungsvoll.

Yesterday we were in Esslingen which is located on the Neckar River, about 14 km southeast of Stuttgart city centre. We've visited the Christmas Market and the Medieval Market. We were stoked about them. In particular we enjoyed the Medieval Market and its specific attractions. A visit of these two wonderful markets is worthwhile. They're very atmospheric right in the evening.
