It's Time For A Northern Update

Das Berufliche Schulzentrum mit den Schulen für Gesundheit und Pflege und Ernährung und Sozialwesen ist im Prinzip fertig. Nun ist der Innenausbau voll im Gange. Selbst an einem Sonntag-Vormittag brennt fast in jedem Raum Licht.

The occupational education center which confederates the schools for 'healthiness and care' and 'nutrition and welfare' is almost ready. The interior fittings are in full swing. Even on Sunday light is on in many classrooms.

A Busy Station

Blick auf die Stadtbahnhaltestelle Pragsattel. Hier werden 4 Linien bedient, es ist ein wichtiger Umstiegspunkt. Von hier aus kann man auch bequem zu Fuß hinauf zum Burgholzhof laufen.

View to the city railway station named Pragsattel. It's an important interchange station which operates 4 lines. This station is also a starting point for a walking-tour through vineyards up to the Burgholzhof area.

Villa Moser

Diese Kunststation im Leibfriedschen Garten heißt "Villa Moser" und weist auf das gleichnamige Gebäude hin, das sich hier bis 1944 befand, ehe es durch eine Bombe zerstört wurde. Ein Spaziergang durch den Liebfriedschen Garten kann ich wärmstens empfehlen.

This artwork is situated in the Leibfriedschen Garten too. It is named "Villa Moser" and it refers to the correspondent mansion which stood here until 1944. The mansion was destroyed through a bomb. I can recommend a walk through this wonderful park to you.

Die Bastion Leibfried bietet wirklich eine herrliche Aussicht. Ich könnte hier zig Fotos zeigen, aber das wäre wohl zu viel des Guten. Auf diesem Foto ist das imposante Polizeipräsidium in der Hahnemannstraße zu sehen. Nicht weniger sehenswert sind die daneben erbauten Wohnhäuser. Es muss sehr angenehm sein, in dieser idyllischen Lage arbeiten und wohnen zu dürfen.

The Leibfried bastion offers really a wonderful view. I could show you umpteen photos, but it could be seen as too much of a good thing. On today's photo you can see the police headquarters at Hahnemannstraße. The alongside built apartement buildings are well worth seeing too. It must be delightful to work and live in this idyllic location.

Lookout With Trees

Dieser "Bastion Leibfried" genannte Aussichtspunkt im Leibfriedschen Garten zwischen Heilbronner Straße, Pragstraße und Löwentorstraße war mein Ziel. Markant sind die Bäume, die dort oben gepflanzt wurden.

This lookout point was my destination. It is called "Bastion Leibfried" and it is situated in a small park named Leibfriedscher Garten between Heilbronner Straße, Pragstraße and Löwentorstraße. The trees on this lookout point are very striking.

Any Kind Of Way

Schon seit geraumer Zeit ziert diese umzäunte Baugrube die Heilbronner Straße. Ein Schild dort wirbt mit dem Spruch "Ihr Weg zum Erfolg!". Will denn niemand diesen erfolgversprechenden Weg gehen? Oder gibt es Alternativwege? Ich bin gespannt, wann hier die Bautätigkeiten beginnen.

This fenced building pit has been decorating the busy Heilbronner Straße for a long time. A sign behind the fence advertises with the slogan "Your way to success!". Who wants to go this promising way? Are there alternative ways? I'm curious about the start of work.

Northern Art

Gleich hinter den Wagenhallen befindet sich ein Industrie- und Gewerbegebiet. Allerdings hat sich hier auch eine Künstlerkolonie niedergelassen. Ein paar Arbeiten zeige ich hier.

There is an industrial and commercial park behind the Wagenhallen. An artists' colony has also established here. I show you some works.

Shadows Of The Past

5 Gleise sind geblieben, um an die Deportationen, die vom Nordbahnhof aus durchgeführt wurden, zu erinnern. Eingerahmt wird die Gedenkstätte mit einer beeindruckenden und bedrückenden Dokumentaion. So sind auch alle Namen der von den Deportationen Betroffenen in der Wand eingelassen.

Five tracks are left over to commemorate the deportations which were started from the Nordbahnhof. The memorial place is framed by an impressive and oppressive documentation. So you can read all the names of the persons who were deported. The names are written on the wall.

Stuttgart Doorways #23

Im Norden von Stuttgart, an der Haltestelle Mittnachtstraße, befindet sich dieser geheimnisvolle Durchgang. Verschiedenfarbige Holzbalken sind kreuz und quer angeordnet und machen den Eingang zu einem besonderen Erlebnis.

There is a mystic passageway in the North of Stuttgart at the city railway station Mittnachtstraße. Variegated baulks are arranged higgledy-piggledy. So the entry becomes an outstanding experience.

The Fortress

Dieses wie eine Festung anmutende Gebäude ist das Kreiswehrersatzamt an der Heilbronner Straße. Es ist zuständig für die Stadt- bzw. Landkreise Stuttgart, Böblingen, Esslingen, Heilbronn, Lüdwigsburg und Tübingen.

This "fortress" is the Stuttgart registration office at the Heilbronner Straße. It is responsible for 6 city boroughs and counties.

Art In The Killesberg Park, 2

If you walk down from the hill with its tower and along the small allotments you'll behold some mysterious objects around a small lake named Egelsee. I've selected two examples of these artworks.

Gardening In The Killesberg Park

There are some allotment gardens in the Killesberg park too. I assume that they were already here before the Killesberg park was created.
