Long In The Making And Hopefully Worth The Wait

Etwas enttäuscht war ich schon. Ich dachte, diese besondere Wohnhaus wäre fertig! Hoffentlich lohnt sich das Warten.

Gutting

Das Wilhelmspalais am Charlottenplatz, Wohnsitz des letzten württembergischen Königs Wilhelm II., wird zur Zeit entkernt. Irgendwann soll dort das Stadtmuseum untergebracht werden.

The Wilhelmspalais is situated at Charlottenplatz. It was the residence of the last Wuerttemberg king Wilhelm II. After its rebuilding it will open as the town museum.

Stuttgart macht blau, im wahrsten Sinne. Hier sind die Arkaden vor dem noch existierenden Hauptbahnhof mit den blauen Rohren und den flanierenden Menschen zu sehen.

Stuttgart sees blue. If I would translate correctly I should write "Stuttgart takes a brake". But I want to accentuate the "blue". You see the blue pipes of the arcaded sidewalk in front of the current main station and the sauntering people.

Am Mailänder Platz stehen jede Menge Kräne, die das Milaneo errichten. Rechts im Bild ist die Stadtbücherei zu sehen. Links befindet sich die Stadtbahnhaltestelle "Stadtbibliothek - Handwerkskammer" (ehemals Türlenstraße/Bürgerhospital).

There are many cranes at the Mailänder Platz. A building complex named Milaneo is built there. On the right you can see the illuminated public library and on the left there is the city railway station named "Stadtbibliothek - Handwerkskammer" (formerly known as "Türlenstraße/Bürgerhospital").

It's Time For A Northern Update

Das Berufliche Schulzentrum mit den Schulen für Gesundheit und Pflege und Ernährung und Sozialwesen ist im Prinzip fertig. Nun ist der Innenausbau voll im Gange. Selbst an einem Sonntag-Vormittag brennt fast in jedem Raum Licht.

The occupational education center which confederates the schools for 'healthiness and care' and 'nutrition and welfare' is almost ready. The interior fittings are in full swing. Even on Sunday light is on in many classrooms.

Under Construction, Update 1

Der 1. Juni 2011 stand unter dem Motto "Im Bau". Da zeigte ich ein Bild aus der Lautenschlager Straße in S-Mitte. Vor ein paar Tagen sah es schon so aus.

The motto was "Under Construction" last year on June 1st. I've published a photo of a building lot from the Lautenschlager Straße in the centre. The today's photo shows the situation some days before.

Das ist eine von vielen Baustellen in Stuttgart, die das Aussehen der Stadt nachhaltig ändern. Hier war ich in der Lautenschlagerstraße in Stuttgarts Mitte, wo ein neues Glas-Stahl-Beton-Konstrukt entsteht.

This is one of the numberless building lots in Stuttgart. I fear that they will strongly change the appearance of the city. This photo was made at Lautenschlagerstraße in the city centre where a new building made of glass, steel and concrete is aborning.
