Fountains Of Stuttgart, No. 000024

This is the Erbsenbrunnen (pea's fountain). It is situated in front of the branch to the Erbsenbrunnengasse. On a plate you can read that this fountain has given the only sweet water in the city. Therefore this water was most suitable for soaking of dried peas.
How about a fig leaf for the boy?
Mmhhhh, leckeres Süßwasser. Abfüllen erlaubt.
What yummy sweet water! It is permitted to bottling it.

I like this fountain very much - especially the macrophoto, what an animal...

Do you know who that little boy truly is? Do you know who posed for that sculpture? It might surprise you: former Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker! His uncle was the sculptor. He is that little boy! How is that for historical trivia? :-))
