That is an amazing building. And I find it so strange to think that countries and states have bought so rapidly and thoroughly into the lottery scheme of things.
In this country, 30 years ago, such a thing would have been unthinkable; gambling was sinful, bad, evil, a no-no.
But greed won. And now states like Florida run big lottery systems and billions of dollars are involved. They promised us the money would be used for education and in one sense that is true. They used some of the money for education; legislators used some of the money to jaunt around the world, but at the same time they cut regular funding for the schools so education didn't gain a damn thing!
But now the state has got a massive problem with compulsive gambling - an addiction that is hard to cure and easily destroys families and relationships.
