The Way Home

Es gibt eine Menge zu sehen, am Nordbahnhof. Ein kurzer Blick zurück, Richtung Hauptbahnhof. Jetzt muss ich mich aber mit der Stadtbahn auf den Heimweg machen.

There are many places of interest at Nordbahnhof. A short view back towards main station. Now I have to start back for home. The tram will arrive in a few minutes.

Die Stadtbahnlinie U14 fährt von Heslach über Stadtmitte, Haupfbahnhof und Wilhelma (der Zoologische Garten in Stuttgart) nach Remseck und wieder zurück. Wir waren am Abend in Remseck, die Sonne stand schon recht niedrig. Es war wenig los.

The city railway line U14 goes from Heslach via city centre, main station and our zoo named Wilhelma to Remseck and returns again. It's an interesting route. We went to Remseck in the evening, the sun was low yet. Our train was quite empty.

Weil es momentan Probleme mit der S-Bahn in Stuttgart gibt, können alle Kunden mit Zeitkarten an September-Wochenenden das ganze Tarifgebiet befahren, egal für welche Zone die Zeitkarte gilt. So sind wir mit der U-Bahn Linie 14 von Heslach bis zur Endstation Remseck im Landkreis Ludwigsburg gefahren.

There are some problems with the suburban railway, the "S-Bahn", in Stuttgart. Therefore all customers with season tickets get free ride on weekend in September. We went to Remseck. It is the final station of tram line 14 from Heslach. Remseck is a city in the county Ludwigsburg.

Diese interessante Brücke führt über den Neckar.

View Backwards

Einige Schritte von der Börse entfernt befindet sich die Stadtbahnhaltestelle "Berliner Platz/Liederhalle". Wirft man einen Blick zurück Richtung Börse, bietet sich dieser Blick. Erstaunlich, dass das Gras entlang der Schienen noch nicht gemäht wurde.

Only a stone's throw away from the Stuttgart bourse there is the station named "Berliner Platz/Liederhalle". If you take a look back you'll get this view to the city. It is wondrous but pleasing that the grass border along the tracks is uncut yet.

Tram To And From Geroksruhe

Die Fotos sind Anfang Juli, am frühen Morgen, entstanden. Ich war auf dem Weg zu meinem Garten und wollte unbedingt die noch angenehmen Temperaturen zum Fotografieren nutzen.

The photos are made at the beginning of July in the early morning. I was on the way to my garden and I wanted to use the acceptable temperatures for photography.

Tram On Böblinger Straße

Auf besonderen Wunsch poste ich dieses Foto. Es zeigt die Stadtbahn, Linie U14, auf der Böblinger Straße zwischen den Haltestellen Bihlplatz und Südheimer Platz (Richtung Heslach).

I post this photo by special request. You see the city railway (line U14) on Böblinger Strasse between the stations Bihlplatz and Südheimer Platz in Heslach.

Traffic

Blick in den Schwabtunnel, der Stuttgart-West mit Stuttgart-Süd verbindet. Man beachte die Treppen links und rechts vom Tunnel und auf dem Tunnel, dies bietet besonders fitten Menschen die Möglichkeit, den Tunnel zu überqueren. Kaum zu Glauben, dass bis 1972 eine Straßenbahn durch den Tunnel fuhr: hier der Beweis - ein Foto von der anderen Richtung
View into the Schwabtunnel who's connecting the western quarter with the southern. Look the stairs beside and across the tunnel. It's possible to traverse the tunnel, but it's only advisable for fit people. Can you imagine that a tram was gone through this tunnel until 1972? It's true!
