Stuttgart's Horses - No. One In A Series

Today I start a series with photos of horses. The horse is the heraldic animal of the city of Stuttgart. The name derives from the old name "Stuotengarten" (Engl.: garden of the mares), because Stuttgart was founded as a stud in former times. It is assumed that you can find a lot of clues for that. I have made the above photo at a school. The building is not really impressive, but the horse is qualified to start this serial.

A fine example of a rearing horse and in heraldic terms more than appropriate for the start of a series on horses.

Very nice carving...and your commentary was fascinating. Maybe, Ocala, "horse capitol of the world," should become a sister city to Stuttgart...

You'd probably like my HITS series on Ocala Daily Photo...
