On The Air

Blick auf das alte Rundfunkgebäude des SWR, des Südwestrundfunks, im Stuttgarter Osten. Der SWR ist lokal zuständig für die Bundesländer Baden-Würtemberg und Rheinland-Pfalz, aber im Internetzeitalter spielen solche Einschränkungen keine Rolle mehr.
View to the old-established building of the broadcast concern named SWR (Südwestrundfunk, south-west broadcast) in the East of Stuttgart. The SWR is a local broadcast station and responsible for the German states Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate. But such restrictions are irrelevant in the Internet age.
Es wird einiges investiert beim SWR Stuttgart. Hier entstehen neue Hörfunk- und Fernsehstudios sowie Büros auf über 22.000 Quadratmetern.
The SWR invest in new broadcasting studios and offices on an area of more than 22,000 square metres.

SWR is a very large broadcast company, judging by the size of the building and now it is going to be even bigger. Is their Moto: "Heute Baden-Wûrtemberg - Morgen, die Welt"?

Is this a radio station or is it also involved in TV?

It is (or will be) a massive structure so it must be a massive operation.

Nice shot. Certainly isn't a friendly looking building is it? So big, and cold. I wonder what the people in that more traditional building across the street think?
