You see one of the last winegrower's house in Heslach. Heslach is the residential area where I live. It was predominantly a wine- and fruit-growing district until the beginning of the 19th century. Today there are some wineyards yet. Some street names also refer to its tradition.
There is, fittingly, a (wine-)tavern named "Zur Traube" in this winegrower's house. I can absolutely recommend a visit there.

Is this a white or red wine region, Steffen?

Thank you for your comments.
@anjoe: Nobody has to be thirsty in Stuttgart ;)
@Bill: Stuttgart is primarily a red wine region. Have you already heard from "Trollinger", "Dornfelder" or "Zuckerle"? But the white wine has gained ground in the last years.
