Heute ist wieder ein Monatsanfang und somit wieder Gelegenheit für einen Thementag. Der 1. Mai 2010 steht unter dem Moto "Statuen, Standbilder". Ich habe mich für das Reiterstandbild Kaiser Wilhelm I. auf dem Karlsplatz in der Nähe der Markthalle entschieden. Das erste Foto zeigt das eigentliche Standbild, das zweite die Gesamtanlage. Umgeben von herrlichen Kastanien und unter dem Schutz des Kaisers ist Platz für romantische Aktivitäten.
Today is the beginning of a month again. Today is theme day. "Statues" is the theme for that First of May 2010. I've decided for the equestrian statue of the German Emperor Wilhelm I. on Karlsplatz near market hall. The first shot shows the detailed statue, the second photo shows the entire complex. There is the opportunity for romatic activities surrounded by amazing chestnuts and under the emperor's protection.

Love your angle on the first photo! The other sculptures in the plaza are so interesting too; lions and obelisks – fascinating.
